Borrowing toys is a great money saver as it gives children a change when they become bored with their own toys, and is a way for parents to try toys before buying them. It also saves on space!
The Bayswater Toy Library is a not-for-profit community organisation that has been providing fun and educational toys since 1985. The library is coordinated by a committee and is completely run by volunteers. As part of their membership, members agree to help out with rosters every 6 to 8 weeks and at stocktake time in January. We also encourage members to help out with the general running of the library in any way they can. Members can borrow a range of toys and activities suitable for 0-7 including good quality educational, constructive and imaginative toys which are continually updated. We have over 1200 toys, divided into sections for babies, imagination, construction, art, dress ups, science, motors, dolls, sports, jigsaws and games. There are also parenting books and party boxes.
