It is comprised of the locality of Yabbra plus parts of Tabulam and Urbenville.

It is surrounded by the councils of Clarence Valley, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Scenic Rim, Tenterfield and Tweed.

It is within the state electorate of Lismore.
