About This Community
Gympie Council has an approximate area of 6,900 km².
It is comprised of 80 suburbs including Amamoor, Anderleigh, Araluen, Banks Pocket, Beenaam Valley, Bella Creek, Bells Bridge, Black Snake, Bollier, Boonara, Brooloo, Calico Creek, Canina, Carters Ridge, Cedar Pocket, Chatsworth, Coles Creek, Cooloola Cove, Coondoo, Corella, Curra, Dagun, Downsfield, East Deep Creek and Elgin Vale plus parts of another 8 suburbs.
It is comprised of the localities of Amamoor Creek, Barambah, Booubyjan, Cinnabar, Cooloola, Imbil, Kilkivan, Lake Borumba, Manumbar, Mudlo, Tansey, Toolara Forest, Upper Glastonbury, Upper Kandanga, Widgee, Woolooga and Wrattens Forest plus parts of Tin Can Bay and Windera.
It is surrounded by the councils of Fraser Coast, Noosa, North Burnett, Somerset, South Burnett and Sunshine Coast.
It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Gympie and Nanango.
It is within the federal electorate of Wide Bay.
