About This Community
Golden Plains Council has an approximate area of 2,700 km².
It is comprised of 39 suburbs including Bamganie, Bannockburn, Barunah Park, Berringa, Cambrian Hill, Cape Clear, Corindhap, Dereel, Durdidwarrah, Enfield, Garibaldi, Gheringhap, Haddon, Happy Valley, Hesse, Illabarook, Lethbridge, Mannibadar, Maude, Mount Mercer, Murgheboluc, Napoleons, Newtown, Nintingbool and Piggoreet plus parts of another 12 suburbs.
It is comprised of the localities of Meredith, Rokewood and Shelford plus parts of Anakie, Inverleigh and Werneth.
It is surrounded by the councils of Ballarat City, Colac Otway Shire, Corangamite Shire, Greater Geelong City, Moorabool Shire, Pyrenees Shire and Surf Coast Shire.
It is comprised of parts of the state electorates of Buninyong and Polwarth.
It is comprised of parts of the federal electorates of Ballarat and Corangamite.
