About This Community
Murrindindi Council has an approximate area of 3,900 km².
It is comprised of the suburbs of Acheron, Alexandra, Buxton, Castella, Cathkin, Caveat, Devils River, Dropmore, Fawcett, Ghin Ghin, Gobur, Homewood, Kerrisdale, Killingworth, Kinglake Central, Koriella, Maintongoon, Molesworth, Pheasant Creek, Strath Creek, Taylor Bay, Terip Terip, Thornton, Whanregarwen and Yarck plus parts of 6 suburbs including Enochs Point, Highlands, Kanumbra, Kinglake and Kinglake West.
It is comprised of the localities of Eildon, Glenburn, Limestone, Marysville, Murrindindi, Narbethong, Rubicon, Taggerty and Yea plus parts of Flowerdale, Ruffy and Toolangi.
It is surrounded by the councils of City Of Whittlesea, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort, Mansfield Shire, Mitchell Shire, Nillumbik Shire, Strathbogie Shire and Yarra Ranges Shire.
It is within the state electorate of Eildon.
It is within the federal electorate of Indi.
