Elder Abuse Prevention Unit

The Elder Abuse Prevention Unit (EAPU) is a Queensland wide program provided by UnitingCare Community and funded by the Department of Communities, Child Safety & Disability Services.  The EAPU operates a first-port-of-call helpline providing an information, support and referral service for older people who are experiencing abuse, or for anyone who suspects or has witnessed the abuse of an older person.  Calls are confidential and anyone who rings in to the Helpline may choose to remain anonymous.  Operating hours are between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.  The EAPU also offer free community education for groups and services throughout Queensland.
