HALLS GAP AND GRAMPIANS HISTORICAL SOCIETY INCORPORATEDThe Halls Gap & Grampians Historical Society was formed in 1983, prompted by a concern about the deteriorating state of stone cottages and loss of machinery at the historic Mt. Difficult (Heatherlie) Quarry. Five years later, the cottages had been restored and interpretative signs around the quarry area had been erected, leading to a public appreciation of their heritage.
