Acute Care Team

The Acute Care Team Service is the point of access to Mental Health Services in CQ Health for people over 18 years old. We provide assessment and referral services for people who experience serious mental health problems.

Cares for people over the age of 18 years who require inpatient care for treatment of mental health issues. The inpatient unit is located on the Rockhampton Hospital campus and has 23 beds including 4 High Dependency Unit beds.

Eventide Home Rockhampton provides residential aged care accommodation in courts and lodges: Courts—two units making up a 30-bed psychogeriatric, behaviour and dementia high care residential unit Lodges—3 units making up 50-bed general high care residential units

North Rockhampton Nursing Centre provides residential aged care accommodation for general high care residents, residents experiencing dementia, and also offers interim care and residential transition care. The centre has 120 beds divided into 3 wings.

We aim to reduce the harm from alcohol and drug use as well as improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and the community. Our main office is in Rockhampton but we also provide outreach services to other areas including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater and Biloela. Our Youth Alcohol and Other Drugs Service in Rockhampton specialises in assisting young people aged 12-18 years.

Antenatal Services

Antenatal midwifery appointments are offered five days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday). You can select a specific day for your appointments so that you can see the same two midwives throughout your antenatal journey. If you require obstetric appointments during your pregnancy, these are available five days a week (Monday – Friday).

BreastScreen - Rockhampton

BreastScreen Qld Program is coordinated by the Cancer Screening Services Unit, Qld Health. This is a free service to women aged 40 years and over. Individual and group bookings are available and a doctor's referral is necessary. Upon Request, Health Promotion Officers are available to speak to community groups and workplaces about breast cancer and breast cancer screening free of charge.
