Weddin Council has an approximate area of 3,400 km².
It is surrounded by the suburbs of Bulla Creek, Wattamondara and Wirrimah.

It is surrounded by the councils of Bland, Cowra, Forbes and Hilltops.
It is within the state electorate of Cootamundra.
It is within the federal electorate of Riverina.
